Fire safety, sleeping guests and insurance

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires the responsible person to assess and reduce fire risk. Grease in the extract belongs in the hotel's fire risk assessment. BESA points out that grease deposits can let flames travel through the duct system into other parts of the building. It adds that insurers may refuse a claim traced back to poor maintenance.
